Best 5 Team Building Activities to Improve Employees Productivity

Teams are more efficient when they pass the same hurdles together. Even strong teams may get some benefits from team building activities. Simple team building activities are a great way of improving communication, morale, motivation, productivity, helping employees or new terms to get to know each other. Learning is all about knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each other.  Team building activities are used by many multinational companies. Many business owners think this is the key factor in their company’s success.

You must be wondering and looking for team-building problem-solving activities, however, it is quite difficult to know where to start. Broadly speaking, team building activities can be divided into two categories i.e. Indoor and outdoor.

Let’s have a look at some best Indoor activities and games for motivation training.

1. Egg Drop

In this game, every individual or team of 2 members build an egg package that can keep the whole uncooked egg intact by sustaining a 2-4-story drop.

Tools that you should have while playing this game usually includes straws, tape, plastic, balloons, rubber band, newspapers, and the entire activity/game lasts for more than 1 hour and take up to a maximum of 1.5 hours.

The winner of the game is the team who survives this free fall. In case of a tie, increasing the height for the egg- fall serves as tie-breaker.

2. Escape Room

Your team will need to work together and communicate efficiently to find clues, solve puzzles, and ultimately complete a mission in under an hour. You can choose to find lost gold, repair a spaceship on Mars, break out of prison, and more! Most games hold up to 8 people and many companies have multiple games, which means you can bring the whole team/department and spread them across adventures.

9/10 people have said that team communication improved after playing with this top-rated Escape Room company. Their team of artists, engineers, and designers have created games that will boost morale and improve your team’s communication and collaboration in 60-minutes or less!

3. What’s My Name

This is an excellent ice-breaker team building game where players use “yes” or “no” questions to guess the identity of a person.

Each player writes the name of a person on a self-sticking name tag. The person can be anyone – a celebrity, an iconic person, a famous athlete, even a client of your company. The players then place the name tag on the back of another player so they can’t see who they are, but the rest of the group can.

While mixing and mingling, each employee will ask the others various “yes” or “no” questions to help them figure out who they are supposed to be. Once they’ve guessed the name of the person, they can remove the tag.

4. Office Trivia Game

You may not know the name but you would have definitely seen that episode in Friends where Joey and Chandler won the room because of the bet. Yes, that is the same game you can choose to play with your Employees.

Create a list of trivia questions regarding your workplace and see which team gets the most correct answers. You can type a document of the questions leaving an area blank for the answers or do a live quiz where you read out the questions and the first one with the correct answer gets the point. The team (or employee) that gets the most answers correct wins the game.

This team-building game improves problem-solving, knowledge about your office culture, and is just plain fun!

5. Follow The Leader

This is one of those team-building activities that will require your entire team to work together as one and follow a secret leader who will make simple movements for the entire group to mimic. Another person – the guesser – will have to determine who’s the leader of the pack.

The more employees play this game the more it will be merrier. One person from the group is chosen as the guesser and the guesser has to leave the room. While the guesser is gone, the group elects one person to be the leader. This person will make movements that the followers can quickly mimic. When the guesser comes back in the room, he or she will try to discover who’s the leader by watching the movements of the group.

This game will improve non-verbal communication, cooperation skills, builds trust and team cohesion, as well as leadership among your employees.

Use these games to build motivation and strength between your employees as a team. There is always a chance to take a break and have some fun while putting in a hard day’s work. What fun office activities does your company do? Share them by leaving us a comment below.
